1. Who we are
KnownMeds ("KnownMeds," "we," "us") provides a personal medication-record service through our app and website at knownmeds.com, and through optional physical products. These Terms are an agreement between you and KnownMeds LLC, a Utah limited liability company.
2. Who may use KnownMeds
You must be 18 or older. If you are managing a list on behalf of another adult, you may only do so with that person's permission, or where you hold legal authority to act for them (such as a power of attorney or healthcare proxy). You are responsible for what you do in another person's account.
KnownMeds is not built for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
3. Your account
You sign in with your phone number and a code we text you. Keep access to that phone number secure — anyone who controls it can reach your account. Tell us promptly at hello@knownmeds.com if you believe someone else has gained access.
You may invite family members and choose whether they can view or also manage your list. You are responsible for who you invite, and you can remove their access at any time.
4. This is not medical advice — read this part
KnownMeds does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. We display information you enter, information you photograph, and information imported at your direction from sources like Medicare. We do not check whether your medications are correct, safe, appropriate, or complete, and we do not screen for drug interactions or allergies.
Always talk to your doctor or pharmacist before starting, stopping, or changing any medication. In an emergency, call 911. Never delay seeking care because of anything in this app.
5. Accuracy, and what the list can and cannot do
We work hard to display your information faithfully, but we cannot guarantee it is complete or current. Claims data from Medicare lags behind real life by days or weeks. Label scanning can misread. Over-the-counter medicines and cash-pay prescriptions may never appear automatically. You are responsible for reviewing your list and correcting it.
The emergency card is a convenience, not a guarantee. We cannot promise that any responder will scan it, that a phone or network will be available, or that the service will be reachable at any given moment. Treat it as one helpful layer, not as your only safeguard.
6. Connecting outside sources
If you connect your Medicare account, you are directing Medicare to share your claims information with us under your own right of access. You can disconnect at any time in the app or through your Medicare account. We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or timeliness of information provided by Medicare or any other source you connect.
7. Physical products
Wallet cards and fridge magnets are sold separately from the free app. Prices, shipping times, and availability are as shown at checkout. Physical items are printed for you; we accept returns only for defective or incorrectly printed items, within 30 days. Losing a card is not a security emergency — turn it off in the app and order a replacement.
8. Your content
Your medication list, photos, and documents remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to operate the service for you: to store, display, transmit, and back up your information, and to share it exactly as you direct. We do not sell your information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to train advertising or marketing systems. Our handling of your information is described in our Privacy Notice, which is part of these Terms.
9. Fair use of the service
Please do not: use KnownMeds for anyone without their permission; attempt to access another person's account; scrape, reverse-engineer, or overload the service; upload anything unlawful; or use the service to provide clinical care to patients as a substitute for a licensed medical record system.
10. Service changes and availability
We may add, change, or discontinue features. If we make a change that materially reduces the core service, we will tell you in the app beforehand. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability — maintenance and outages happen.
If we ever shut the service down, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your list first.
11. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. When you do, your health information is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, except minimal records we are legally required to keep. We may suspend or end an account that violates these Terms.
12. Disclaimers
Except where the law does not allow it, the service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free or that information displayed will be accurate or complete.
13. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, KnownMeds is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $100.
Some states do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or anything that cannot be limited by law.
14. Indemnity
You agree to cover our reasonable losses arising from your misuse of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your management of another person's list without proper authority.
15. Disputes and governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to KnownMeds will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Utah, and you and we each consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
Nothing here prevents either of us from bringing a qualifying claim in small claims court.
16. Changes to these Terms
If we change these Terms, we will post the new version with a new date and, for material changes, notify you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use KnownMeds after that means you accept the updated Terms.
